I have been working for PeopleSpace, Inc. (now Arrow NewMedia) for 12 years, first as an employee, currently as a contractor. Through PS I have developed games, contests, and sweepstakes for companies such as Sesame Street, Lifetime TV, the Washington Redskins, and CNN, and organizations such as the FAA. My work ranges from small action/arcade development to multi-player trivia engines, card games and software prototypes for handheld devices.
Some of the games here may have a retro feel to them. That's because my game development experience stretches back to 1995, when Shockwave was in its infancy as an online tool, Flash was not even Flash, and I was a production artist and then game prototyper at BoxerJam, a maker of educational tutorial CDs (under the Boxer Math name, now defunct) and online multiplayer games.
Below is a brief introduction to my work. System requirements for playable examples can be found in the individual listings.
Valentine Crush was created as a follow-up promotion to a Valentine's Day campaign, but ended up being a standalone project that I designed a site around.
I had designed many variations of the Same Game using Shockwave for clients, but this was my first Flash version, and it features an opening animation, high score list, and "email a friend" feature. It utilizes our cupid character from a previous campaign. (PLAY VALENTINE CRUSH)
The Flash plugin v. 8 or above is required, and a broadband connection is highly recommended.
Octopus solitaire was made out of a desire to both learn Flash and fix some of the user interface issues that I felt plagued many existing solitaire games. Octopus solitaire is by no means a complete project -- there is much more that can and probably will be done with it in the future, but it allowed me to learn Flash and its many idiosyncrasies, and dabble in some game design and music writing, as well as work out some mathematical issues such as spline-based path movement and simulated chain-link motion. (PLAY OCTOPUS)
The Flash plugin v. 7 or above is required, and a broadband connection is highly recommended (for the background music).
Cupid's Rose is a whack-a-mole game that I created for 1-800-the-rose to promote their Valentine's Day rose sales. (PLAY CUPID'S ROSE)
The Flash plugin v. 7 or above is required.
Mooz is a child's game based on the popular bubble-pop arcade games. The original, available here, was designed in Shockwave. I redid the game in C and C++, and created a company, Playing Possums, to distribute it, and other standalone games, including Pipedreams. (PLAY MOOZ)
The latest Shockwave plugin is required for Mooz.
